I'm turning 17 on the 27th of October (in 2 days), so I thought i'd say goodbye to 16. I realize that this seems a little dramatic, but 16 just happened to be the age that I fell in love with the idea of being a teenager. This year, I continuously tried to feel "teen vibez", to feel like I was living in a 90s American teen movie and to feel like I was making the most of being a teenager. Because I have two older sisters, I could hardly wait to be a teenager when I was younger.
The truth is, being a teenager has been pretty shit. But buying composition notebooks, dressing like a 90s kid, treasuring "teen" moments with my friends - these little things have made me feel as if I am in a film which has made being a teenager that much better.
Of course i'll still be a teenager when i'm 17 but I feel like 16 is that crucial year sandwiched between all the other teen years where you are truly "Sweet 16".
So without further ado, here are some things that have to do with being 16/teen moments that have happened in the past year/things that give me teen vibes in general.


I can't remember if I was even 16 in this picture but I do remember that it was one of the best nights ever. I went out with Julie and Ffion since Ffion was going back to New Zealand the next day. We spend most of the night in this Russian ice bar (a bar made out completely of ice) where you put on big fur coats to stay warm. Julie, Ffion and I sat there for ages talking to all kinds of people that would come in and out of the bar and just laughing and having the best time. The bar has shut down now but i'll never forget that night.
